'Tyrannosaur' Wins Big At The 14th British Independent Film Awards - British Independent Film Awards, Raindance Film Festival, Tyrannosaur, Michael Fassbender, Olivia Colman, Tilda Swinton

The 14th British Independent Film Awards has given three awards to Paddy Considine’s Tyrannosaur for Best British Independent Film, Best Debut Director, and Best Actress.

Created by the people behind the Raindance Film Festival in 1998, the BIFA now honors and pushes merit and achievement in British independent films.

Michael Fassbender’s stellar performance in Shame has won him the Best Actor award, further strengthening his momentum for the Academy Awards race.

Tilda Swinton (We Need To Talk About Kevin) lost to Tyranossaur’s Olivia Colman who won the Best Actress award but Swinton’s film director Lynne Ramsay managed to win Best Director against Steve McQueen (Shame).
