Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced its upcoming rerelease of the original Spider-Man trilogy on Blu-ray, which falls ahead of Columbia Pictures’ The Amazing Spider-Man.
Fans will again see Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, and James Franco in Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3, all of which helmed by Sam Raimi, on Blu-ray discs this time starting June 12, whereas The Amazing Spider-Man will debut July 3.
This is not the first Blu-ray copies Sony has released for the highly popular trilogy and these new editions will still carry the same extras and nothing more to get fanatics frantic.
Specifically, Spider-Man 2 and 3 will not include new features other than “collectable O-Ring packaging” and free ticket code for a new movie (but requires a $10 ticket or less).
The new Spider-Man edition touts a Spider Sense Trivia Game and The Spider-Man Cutting Room Floor, the latter of which allows creating and sharing a Spider-Man video using video clips and audio from the actual film.
Las week, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment also announced that it would rerelease Men in Black on Blu-ray, together with Men In Black 2’s first Blu-ray copy, both of which are set to arrive during the Men in Black 3 opening on May 25.
Men in Black packs the same bonus features found on DVD packages, but MiB 2 will carry a playable MiB PlayStation 3 game demo from Activision.
The MiB Blu-rays, including a movie ticket offer and UltraViolet, are set to hit shelves on May 1.
