Russell Brand will be playing the starring role in an upcoming supernatural film named “The Hauntrepreneur.”
The British comedian will be the protagonist of this Michael Bay-directed flick and according to Variety, it will revolve around a bizarre man (the Hauntrepreneur), who assists a new family settle in a new neighbourhood. To bring the members of that family close to each other, the Hauntrepreneur sets up a fake haunted house and fills it up with strange personalities.
Bay, who has hit movies such as “The Rock,” “Armageddon” and “Pearl Harbour” to his credit, will be the co-producer of “The Hauntrepreneur” alongside Andrew Form and Brad Fuller. It will be developed at Paramount Pictures, who acquired the movie script from “Con Air” screenwriter Scott Rosenberg late last year. No candidates for the director’s role have been leaked to the media so far.
Brand will be seen a lot on the big screen in the next two years. His next movie appearance will be on the musical adaptation of “Rock of Ages,” which is scheduled to his US theatres in June 2012. Apart from that, the 36-year old funny man will also act in a remake of “Drop Dead Fred,” an untitled Oliver Stone film and Adam Sandler’s “Bad Father.” He is expected to follow that trio with a silver screen adaptation of 1970s show “Rentaghost.”
