A new image from the forthcoming James Bond movie “Skyfall” has just been released, in which Ralph Fiennes’ new ‘government agent’ look can be seen. In this movie still, the “Schindler’s List” star is taking cover behind a wooden wall, while aiming at his target with his gun.
No details about Fiennes’ character have been leaked to the media yet, but the movie’s pages on Wikipedia and IMDB reveal that the on-screen name of his character will be Gareth Mallory. Some news agencies have been told by their unnamed sources that the character of M (Bond’s commanding officer) will be killed in the movie and Fiennes’ character will be drafted in to replace her. However, the claim’s authenticity has not been verified yet.
Fiennes’ “Skyfall” image is not the only movie still that Columbia Pictures has released today. Accompanying it are a few pictures of Daniel Craig, who plays the franchise’s central character of James Bond. Moreover, other cast members like Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe and Judi Dench can also be seen in action.
In addition to the aforementioned photos, the studio has also released an interview video clip. The two-minutes-and-forty-eight-seconds-long clip shows Craig explaining the nature of relationship that exists between agent 007 and Marlohe’s character Severine. Then the movie’s chief antagonist Javier Bardem talks about his character Raoul Silva, followed up by Marlohe expressing her excitement at being associated with the Bond series.
A budget of $150 million has been set aside for this Sam Mendes-directed film, which will be the 23rd movie of the James Bond series. It is scheduled for a US-wide release on November 9.
