This weekend has been a big one for those anticipating the release of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus later this year, as both a short IMAX trailer and the first full-length trailer came into the limelight.
The 60-second IMAX trailer stuck with the same mysterious and teasing footage that the previous teaser trailers have shown. It’s still worth a watch however, as the new footage and the change in quality make for a perfect appetizer to the main course that is the full-length trailer.
So check out the quick IMAX trailer first just to get you started…
Director Ridley Scott is known for his notorious secrecy, so it’s nice to get some more idea of the actual story from the second trailer. The trailer shows off the crew of the Prometheus, the space shuttle that has brought our intrepid voyagers (played by Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Noomi Rapace, and Michael Fassbender) and reveals what has led them to their remote destination.
Don’t worry though, as Scott hasn’t let them give too much away in this two-minute trailer either; and other than a few mouthwatering snatches, we are all still very much in the dark when it comes to the nature of the alien bad guys.
To top things off, Scott and screenwriter Damon Lindelof took part in a live chat to help launch the trailer. This little convo has been the cherry on top of the delicious cake in the viral online marketing campaign for the movie.
So, if all that wasn’t enough to get you excited, take a look at the full trailer below before joining the long line that’s already forming outside your local cinema…
